Puggy is a Belgian band, even though none of the members is actually Belgian. They're from England (singer Matthew Irons), Sweden (Drummer Egil "Ziggy" Franzen) and France (bassist Romain Descampe).
They opened for Fiction Plane in France in March and June, so some of you might know them already.
Their music is hard to describe: an accoustic guitar, great bass lines and a whirlwind for a drummer. Cheeky lyrics, English humour and voice harmonies that some bands might go pale with envy.
They can cover Jacques Brel songs just as well as open up for Incubus or Smashing Pumkins or even set the Belgian Festival "Couleur Café" on fire without being out of place.
"Dubois Died Today" was their first disc released in 2007. At the moment they are playing up and down in Belgium and people hope that they will be opening for Fiction Plane in December. (Any ideas how we could convince whoever takes that decision? The band would love to!)
Lacking words to describe them or the energy they set free during their concerts I suggest to let the music do the talking by going to their sites in MySpace:
